| And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” | And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” |
| But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. |

| But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. | All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. |
| Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. | So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. |
| He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. | Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. |
| From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” | From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” |
| Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. | Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. |

| Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. | How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. |
| Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. | Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. |

| And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. | She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. |
| Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. | So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. |
