If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. | And if then my people who bear my name humble themselves and pray to me and seek my presence as they turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their land. |
My doctrine will drop as the rain. My speech will condense as the dew, as the misty rain on the tender grass, as the showers on the herb. | Let my teaching fall down like rain, and my words descend like the dew. Like rain upon the sprouts, and like showers upon the grass. |

He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. | To anyone who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame and sat with my Father on his throne. |
I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. | I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have life. |
He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. | But he answered me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” Hence, I will boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell within me. |
You are all beautiful, my love. There is no spot in you. | You are all-beautiful, my love, without the slightest blemish. |
For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. | You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am wonderfully made; awesome are your works, as I know very well. |
Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. | Examine me, O God, and know my heart; test me and understand my thoughts. See if I follow an evil way, and guide me on the way to eternity. |
Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” | Jesus answered him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.” |
This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. | This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you. |
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. | Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. |
Therefore you shall keep my commandments, and do them. I am Yahweh. | You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord. |
Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain. | Dispose my heart to follow your statutes and to flee selfish gain. |
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God. | As a deer longs for running streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. |
I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. | I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he set me free from all my fears. |
I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy. Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. | I love the Lord because he has heard my voice and listened to my cry for mercy, because he has inclined his ear to me on the day when I called out to him. |
Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name. | Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself; thus my lips will speak your praise. I will bless you all my life; with uplifted hands I will call on your name. |
I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever. | I will extol you, my God and King; I will bless your name forever and ever. |
You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. | As for you, my child, take strength from the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |
I have no greater joy than this: to hear about my children walking in truth. | Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. |
When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up. | When I realized that my foot was slipping, your kindness, O Lord, raised me up. |
If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing. | If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing. |
One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him. | Anyone who has received my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him. |
So is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do. | So shall my word be that issues forth from my mouth. It will not return to me unfulfilled, but it will accomplish my purpose and achieve what I sent it forth to do. |
Establish my footsteps in your word. Don’t let any iniquity have dominion over me. | Guide my steps in accord with your word and never let evil triumph over me. |
