Jesus said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” | Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” |
A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in abundance. | The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly. |

Jesus then said, “I will remain with you only for a short time longer, and then I shall return to him who sent me.” | Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am going to be with you, and then I am going to Him who sent Me.” |
However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God. | But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. |
Until now, in my name, you have not asked for anything. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. | Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. |
And thus we can have confidence in him that if we ask anything that is in accordance with his will, he hears us. | This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. |
Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul. | Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. |
This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. | In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit. | By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit. |
However, if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing. | If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full. | Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. |
Amen, amen, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. | Truly, truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. |
And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. | And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. |
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him. | For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. |
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. | These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. |
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” | Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.” |
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. | Truly, truly I say to you, the one who receives anyone I send, receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. |
Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. | Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. |
However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. | But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God. |
I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. |
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. | If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. |
If we claim that we have fellowship with him while we continue to live in darkness, we are lying and do not live in the truth. | If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. |
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth. | And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. |
This is the message that we have heard from him and that we declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him. | This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. |
