Peace and understanding (3/4)

  • If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
  • But he was pierced for our transgressions.
He was crushed for our iniquities.
    The punishment that brought our peace was on him;
and by his wounds we are healed.
  • For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
  • You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman as to the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
  • I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
  • “For the mountains may depart,
    and the hills be removed,
but my loving kindness will not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace will not be removed,”
says Yahweh who has mercy on you.
  • How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,
    who publishes peace,
    who brings good news,
    who proclaims salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
  • Don’t weary yourself to be rich.
    In your wisdom, show restraint.
  • Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
  • Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise.
When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.
  • Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
  • House and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from Yahweh.
  • Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus, make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and into the perseverance of Christ.
  • Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still.
  • As knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine, according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
  • For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
  • Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry.
Don’t be silent at my tears.
For I am a stranger with you,
a foreigner, as all my fathers were.
  • All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
  • Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
  • But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
  • Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
  • I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!”
  • The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh
    is wealth, honor, and life.
  • Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.

You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
