- For the Lord giveth wisdom:
out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. - Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding. - Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
- A fool hath no delight in understanding,
but that his heart may discover itself. - He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul:
he that keepeth understanding shall find good. - Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:
and with all thy getting get understanding. - The entrance of thy words giveth light;
it giveth understanding unto the simple. - How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!
and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. - Depart from evil, and do good;
seek peace, and pursue it. - Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise:
and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. - He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding:
but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. - Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not;
neither decline from the words of my mouth. - Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
- Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths. - And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:
his praise endureth for ever. - And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
- That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ.
- And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding. - Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. - The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
