Proverbs 3:5 (5/6)

It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry. It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the hearts.
To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor.
He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not. There are those who covet greedily all day long; but the righteous give and don’t withhold.
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold.
By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life. The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh is wealth, honor, and life.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender.
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint.
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.
My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad, even mine.
The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him.
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul. If you have found it, then there will be a reward: Your hope will not be cut off.
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint.
Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.Don’t forsake your friend and your father’s friend. Don’t go to your brother’s house in the day of your disaster. A neighbor who is near is better than a distant brother.
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance.
As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.Like water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe.
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me.Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me.

Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
