- Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in you.
- I wait for Yahweh.
My soul waits.
I hope in his word. - The hands of the diligent ones shall rule,
but laziness ends in slave labor. - They set up over his head the accusation against him written, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
- Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who hope in Yahweh. - “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be enough room for.”
- Why are you in despair, my soul?
Why are you disturbed within me?
Hope in God! For I shall still praise him,
the saving help of my countenance, and my God. - Every word of God is flawless.
He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - For you, God, have tested us.
You have refined us, as silver is refined. - Blessed is he whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - Trust in Yahweh, and do good.
Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. - Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
- But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- Don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
- Guide me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation.
I wait for you all day long. - But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
- He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.
- Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.
- Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
- And hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
- Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning,
for I trust in you.
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
for I lift up my soul to you. - We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
- Let your loving kindness be on us, Yahweh,
since we have hoped in you. - Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a right spirit within me.
