To this day I have had help from God, and so I stand here, testifying to both small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would take place: that the Messiah must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.But I have had help from God to this very day, and I stand here and testify to both the lowly and the great. But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”After he had decided to follow this course of action, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary into your home as your wife. For this child has been conceived in her womb through the Holy Spirit.”
From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.”After Jesus had been born in Bethlehem of Judea during the reign of King Herod, wise men traveled from the east and arrived in Jerusalem, inquiring, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw the rising of his star, and we have come to pay him homage.”
When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved.”When Jesus heard this, he said, “Do not be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be saved.”
When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.
