Sing over me (4/4)

He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’
And he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’
In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place.
O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is right. In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness.
If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping. You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
My future is in your hands. Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly. My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.
Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge.Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.
Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me.Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord; may your love and faithfulness always protect me.
The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation is on the earth. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The Lord is his name!He builds his lofty palace in the heavens and sets its foundation on the earth; he calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land— the Lord is his name.
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.
You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
In those days when you pray, I will listen. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God! But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.” But the Lord replied, “You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don’t you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water? This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn’t it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?” This shamed his enemies, but all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did.On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.” The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?” When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
