- However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die.
- Those who place their hope in the Lord
will regain their strength.
They will soar as with eagles’ wings,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not become faint. - Nevertheless, do not rejoice in the knowledge that the spirits are subject to you. Rejoice rather that your names are inscribed in heaven.
- The proud man’s heart is not upright,
but the righteous man will live
because of his faith. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
those who are guided by it will grow in understanding.
His praise will last forever. - Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.
- Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To the one seated on the throne
and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might
forever and ever.” - Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful.
- You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
- Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
- Shun evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it. - All those who have sinned outside the Law will perish outside the Law, and all who sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law.
- And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good.
- I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
- The reward of humility and fear of the Lord
is wealth, honor, and life. - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
- And when he comes,
he will prove the world wrong
about sin and righteousness and judgment. - To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
- When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you.
- Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’
and rightly so,
for that is what I am. - “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- And the Word became flesh
and dwelt among us.
And we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth. - About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
- Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware.
