- God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. - Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws;
our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. - I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. - Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich.
Be wise enough to know when to quit. - How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world. - Look at the proud!
They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. - We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. - But the Lord watches over those who fear him,
those who rely on his unfailing love. - I love you, Lord;
you are my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety. - But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint. - He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection. - You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
- Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident. - The instructions of the Lord are perfect,
reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. - Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.
- I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
- For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders. The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching that comes from the glorious Good News entrusted to me by our blessed God.
