- I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
- I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.
- For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
- O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off. - Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
- Whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
- And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
- The Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. - Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God. - And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
- Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
- “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.” - Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted. - If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
- I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
- Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
- This is a faithful saying:
For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him. - What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
- No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
- For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
- What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
