What is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him? What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before!
Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
Don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!

Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
