Whom shall I fear?
Yahweh is the strength of my life.
Of whom shall I be afraid? - You shall not misuse the name of Yahweh your God; for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
- “Can anyone hide himself in secret places
so that I can’t see him?” says Yahweh.
“Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says Yahweh. - Seek Yahweh and his strength.
Seek his face forever more. - Commit your deeds to Yahweh,
and your plans shall succeed. - Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh,
who walks in his ways. - Yahweh will fulfill that which concerns me.
Your loving kindness, Yahweh, endures forever.
Don’t forsake the works of your own hands. - For who is God, except Yahweh?
Who is a rock, besides our God? - Unless Yahweh builds the house,
they who build it labor in vain.
Unless Yahweh watches over the city,
the watchman guards it in vain. - Arise, Yahweh!
God, lift up your hand!
Don’t forget the helpless. - Let us search and try our ways,
and turn again to Yahweh. - For Yahweh says to the house of Israel:
“Seek me, and you will live.” - A man’s heart plans his course,
but Yahweh directs his steps. - The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom.
Before honor is humility. - Seek Yahweh and his strength.
Seek his face forever more. - A man’s steps are established by Yahweh.
He delights in his way. - ‘Return, you backsliding Israel,’ says Yahweh; ‘I will not look in anger on you, for I am merciful,’ says Yahweh. ‘I will not keep anger forever.’
- Seek Yahweh while he may be found.
Call on him while he is near. - For who is God, besides Yahweh?
Who is a rock, besides our God? - Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me? - Praise Yahweh, my soul!
All that is within me, praise his holy name! - Yahweh makes poor and makes rich.
He brings low, he also lifts up. - Yahweh commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yahweh our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are today.
- For you will light my lamp, Yahweh.
My God will light up my darkness.
