As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. | Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him. |
See what love the Father has bestowed on us, enabling us to be called the children of God, and that is what we are. If the world does not recognize us, that is because it did not know him. | See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him. |

My son, do not ignore the Lord’s discipline or refuse to accept his rebuke. For the Lord disciplines those whom he loves, just as a father chastises a beloved son. | My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction; for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights. |
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you. | But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. |
Father, allow those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may behold my glory, which you have bestowed on me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. | Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world. |
Gaze upon the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or store in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of far greater value than they? | See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? |
To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. | Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever! Amen. |
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will ever snatch them from my hand. My Father who has given them to me is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one. | I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one. |
A fool spurns his father’s correction, but whoever heeds admonition is prudent. | A fool despises his father’s correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence. |
Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. |
However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name. |
Jesus answered him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.” | Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” |
Fear not, little flock, for your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom. | Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. |
Every good act of giving and every perfect gift are from above, coming down from the Father of all light. With him there is no alteration or shadow caused by change. | Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow. |
Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to my Father for help and he will not immediately send me more than twelve legions of angels? | Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels? |
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them can fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even the hairs on your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth far more than any number of sparrows. | Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows. |
For us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things are and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and through whom we exist. | Yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him. |
Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” | Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” |
He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him? | He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? |
Anyone who has received my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him. | One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him. |
Indeed, creation itself eagerly awaits the revelation of the children of God. | For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. |
Whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. Upon his shoulders dominion rests, and this is the name he has been given: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. | For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. |
No one has ever seen God. It is the only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, who has made him known. | No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him. |
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? | In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. |
