Bible Verses about Debt
- The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously. - Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
- Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
- The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is slave to the lender. - Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
- Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

when it is in your power to act. - Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
- No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.Next verse!With image
