Bible Verses about Generosity

  • A generous person will prosper;
    whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
  • Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
  • You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
  • Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
  • For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
  • Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
    who conduct their affairs with justice.
  • Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
  • Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
  • He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
  • Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
  • If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
  • If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil.
