Jesus (5/8)

  • Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.
  • I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
  • She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
  • So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
  • Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
  • Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.”
  • But when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”
  • And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
  • Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
  • For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.
  • But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
  • Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
  • Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
  • Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
  • Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
  • As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.
  • For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
  • And over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
  • If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
  • But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
  • On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”
  • So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.”
  • Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
