Law (2/5)

  • Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
  • This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
  • For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
  • If you love me, keep my commandments.
  • What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
  • The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
  • And keep the instruction of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself.
  • Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged.
  • For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • He declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments. He wrote them on two stone tablets.
  • Those who love your law have great peace.
    Nothing causes them to stumble.
  • Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
  • He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
  • You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
  • You shall most certainly not make gods of silver or gods of gold for yourselves to be alongside me.
  • Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins; and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
  • We have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances.
  • If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
  • This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.
  • But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
  • You shall diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.
  • Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
  • I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies,
as much as in all riches.
  • Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
  • Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is one. You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.

Yahweh’s law is perfect, restoring the soul.
Yahweh’s covenant is sure, making wise the simple.
