Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom. | Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. |
To get wisdom is to love oneself; to keep understanding is to prosper. | He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. |

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. The heart is devious above all else; it is perverse— who can understand it? Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. | Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. |
Keep straight the path of your feet, and all your ways will be sure. | Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. |
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. | I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. |
If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. | If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. |
Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on your name. | Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
