Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they will have their fill.

Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9 blessing peace children
Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of justice,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and utter all kinds of calumnies against you for my sake.

You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can be done to make it salty once again? It is no longer good for anything, and thus it is cast out and trampled underfoot.

You are the light of the world. A city built upon a mountain cannot be hidden.

Nor would someone light a lamp and then put it under a basket; rather, it is placed upon a lampstand so that it may afford light to all in the house. In the same way, your light must shine so that it can be seen by others; this will enable them to observe your good works and give praise to your Father in heaven.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill them.
