Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. | Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. |
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. | For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. |
|
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus. | May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. |
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. | Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. |
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. | May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. | So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed. |
