Salvation (2/4)

  • Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
    and there are no grapes on the vines;
    even though the olive crop fails,
    and the fields lie empty and barren;
    even though the flocks die in the fields,
    and the cattle barns are empty,
    yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
    I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
  • For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
  • Others were given in exchange for you.
    I traded their lives for yours
    because you are precious to me.
    You are honored, and I love you.
  • My victory and honor come from God alone.
    He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
  • Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
  • For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
  • The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
  • For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
  • But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
  • Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.
  • And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.
  • Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
  • I love you, Lord;
    you are my strength.
    The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
    my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
    He is my shield, the power that saves me,
    and my place of safety.
  • For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
  • Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.
  • O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed;
    if you save me, I will be truly saved.
    My praises are for you alone!
  • If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
  • The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.
    He rescues them from all their troubles.
    The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
    he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
  • But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
  • The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
  • He has removed our sins as far from us
    as the east is from the west.
  • And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
  • For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.
  • This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
  • For the Lord is our judge,
    our lawgiver, and our king.
    He will care for us and save us.

Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
