- Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished:
but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. - Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.
- Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.
- And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
- A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs with discretion. - Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous.
- Thou art my hiding place;
thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. - A fool's lips enter into contention,
and his mouth calleth for strokes. - An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - A faithful witness will not lie:
but a false witness will utter lies. - Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his face continually. - And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
- For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
- For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
- Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
- Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
- But let judgment run down as waters,
and righteousness as a mighty stream. - Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
- Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
- When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
through my roaring all the day long. - Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
- But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
- And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.
