2 Corinthians (2/4)

For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
Having therefore these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.
Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s farming, God’s building. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.
While we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
Examine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don’t you know about your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.
But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.
But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man.So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man.
God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died. He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
Wake up righteously and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.
For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.
But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.

In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
