- Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- It is a faithful saying:
For if we be dead with him,
we shall also live with him. - As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
- There is none holy as the Lord:
for there is none beside thee:
neither is there any rock like our God. - Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
- And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
- Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Who will render to every man according to his deeds.
- But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.
- Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
- Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
- The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.
- Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
- Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
- For who is God, save the Lord?
and who is a rock, save our God? - Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.
- The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
he bringeth low, and lifteth up. - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
- Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
- When pride cometh, then cometh shame:
but with the lowly is wisdom. - Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
- Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
