| An ignorant man causes strife by his insolence, but wisdom is found with those who take advice. | Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel. |
| Nor should you present any part of your body as an instrument for wickedness leading to sin. | A truthful witness does not lie, but a false witness lies incessantly. | A trustworthy witness will not lie, But a false witness declares lies. |
| Who can find a worthy wife? She is far more precious than pearls. | An excellent wife, who can find her? For her worth is far above jewels. |
| Until a spirit from on high is poured out upon us, and the wilderness becomes an orchard and the fruitful field becomes a forest. | Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fertile field, And the fertile field is considered as a forest. |
| Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as if you were doing it for the Lord and not for others, since you know that you will receive from the Lord an inheritance as your reward for you are serving the Lord Christ. | Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. |
| Persevere in prayer, with alert minds and thankful hearts. | Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving. |
| Examine me, O God, and know my heart; test me and understand my thoughts. See if I follow an evil way, and guide me on the way to eternity. | Search me, God, and know my heart; Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there is any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way. |
| He gives a home to those who are forsaken and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation, while rebels are forced to live in an arid land. | God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, Only the rebellious live in parched lands. |
