- Hear, my son, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many. - You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. - My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord,

a guest, like all my fathers. - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
- For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
- My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
for length of days and years of life

- So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
- My son, keep your father's commandment,
