  • Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
  • A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
    And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!
  • And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
  • Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
  • And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
  • Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
  • Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
  • Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
  • This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’
  • Thus says the Lord:
    “Stand in the ways and see,
    And ask for the old paths, where the good way is,
    And walk in it;
    Then you will find rest for your souls.
    But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”
  • My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
    In the morning I will direct it to You,
    And I will look up.
  • Behold the proud,
    His soul is not upright in him;
    But the just shall live by his faith.
  • Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
  • But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
  • Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
  • And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined.
  • And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
    “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ ”
  • So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
  • Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
  • Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
  • And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
  • And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
  • My soul, wait silently for God alone,
    For my expectation is from Him.
  • Truly my soul silently waits for God;
    From Him comes my salvation.
  • And the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day.

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
