for I have sought your precepts. - Don’t weary yourself to be rich.
In your wisdom, show restraint. - You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.
- Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope.
- No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
- Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness.
According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity.
Cleanse me from my sin. - Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.
- Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
- Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
- I will be glad and rejoice in you.
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - Having therefore these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
