- The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul:
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple. - As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
- Many are the afflictions of the righteous:
but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. - The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:
but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
- In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
- Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
- By humility and the fear of the Lord
are riches, and honour, and life. - For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Yea, in the way of thy judgments,
O Lord, have we waited for thee;
the desire of our soul is to thy name,
and to the remembrance of thee. - Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil:
but to the counsellors of peace is joy. - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
- There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
- Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever. - But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
- The face of the Lord is against them that do evil,
to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - The statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
- He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust. - The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;
and before honour is humility. - I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. - The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants:
and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
