He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit. | Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. |
By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another. | By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. |
|
So that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and relax in your company. | That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. |
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. | Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. |
Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry. | And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. |
You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace. | Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. |
Behold, as for the impudent one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous one will live by his faith. | Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. |
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. | This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. |
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. | And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. |
Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. | Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. |
He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone. | This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. |
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.” | For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. |
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved. | Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. |
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. | For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. |
My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. | Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. |
Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day. | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |
For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law. | For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law. |
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast. | For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. |
But the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. | But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. |
But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. | But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. |
But now in Christ Jesus you who previously were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. | But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. |
And He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed. | Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. |
By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit. | Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. |
However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore, And our pains that He carried; Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted, Struck down by God, and humiliated. | Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. |
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. | For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. |
