Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him. | As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. |
He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. | You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. |

Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him? | If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? |
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous. | Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. |
Thus has Yahweh of Armies spoken, saying, ‘Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother. Don’t oppress the widow, the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.’ | This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’ |
“For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed, but my loving kindness will not depart from you, and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says Yahweh who has mercy on you. | “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. |

“They shall be mine,” says Yahweh of Armies, “my own possession in the day that I make. Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful. | Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. |
Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. | The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. |

It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don’t fail. They are new every morning. Yahweh, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times. Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions.
