Bible Verses about 'Deceit'
- Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy. - Save me, Lord,
from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues. - Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies. - He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”
- For, “Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.” - The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
- Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. - The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.” - Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
- Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips. - He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he. - A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.Next verse!With image
