| I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. | I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. |

Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother.’ | This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’ |
| And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you. | May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. |
| Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? | Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? |
| And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? | Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? |
| Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. | Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. |

| Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death. | Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. |
| Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright. | Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the Lord detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence. |
| For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. | For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. |
| Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. | So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. |
