And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. | And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. |
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. | So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. |
|
Let all that you do be done with love. | Do everything in love. |
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. | Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. |
Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. | So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. |
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. | Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. |
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. | And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. |
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. | I can do all this through him who gives me strength. |
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? | The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? |
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. | Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. |
I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart. | I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart. |
Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. | Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. |
“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. | “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. |
He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. | The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. |
To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. | To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. |
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. | And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. |
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. | You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. |
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? | Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? |
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. | So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. |
So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” | So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” |
In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? | In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? |
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. | For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. |
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. | Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. |
