Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? |
The Lord is righteous in all his ways and merciful in everything he does. | The Lord is righteous in all His ways, And kind in all His works. |
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life? | For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? |
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch that does not bear fruit, and every branch that does he prunes to make it bear even more. | I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. |
Just as water reflects one’s face, so does one human heart reflect another. | As in water a face reflects the face, So the heart of a person reflects the person. |
And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. | And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. |
