- Anyone who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it commits a sin.
- There is no one on earth who is so righteous

but whoever does the will of God

who does not harm a friend
and does not scorn a neighbor. - Be doers of the word and not just hearers who only deceive themselves.
- Whoever does not love
does not know God,
because God is love. - Whoever possesses the Son
possesses life;
whoever does not possess the Son of God
does not possess life. - Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever he pleases. - A husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise a wife should fulfill her conjugal obligations to her husband. For a wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

- A truthful witness does not lie,
but a false witness lies incessantly. - If the Lord does not build the house,
those who construct it labor in vain.
If the Lord does not guard the city,
those who keep watch over it do so in vain. - For the word of the Lord is true,
and he is faithful in everything he does. - God is not human, that he should lie,
or the son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act,
does he promise and then not fulfill it? - The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and merciful in everything he does. - What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
- I am the true vine,
and my Father is the vinegrower.
He removes every branch
that does not bear fruit,
and every branch that does
he prunes to make it bear even more. - Just as water reflects one’s face,
so does one human heart reflect another. - And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
- And so does kindness, O Lord.
You reward each person
in accordance with his deeds. - When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.
- Love is patient;
love is charitable.
Love is not envious;
it does not have an inflated opinion of itself;
it is not filled with its own importance.
Love is never rude;
it does not seek its own advantage.
It is not prone to anger;
neither does it brood over setbacks. - Indeed, the Lord God does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants, the prophets. - Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
- Whoever denies the Son
does not have the Father,
but whoever acknowledges the Son
has the Father also. - Do not love the world
or what is in the world.
If anyone does love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him. - Jesus answered, “As it is written:
‘Man does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’ ” - If anyone thinks that he is religious but does not restrain his tongue, he is deceiving himself, and his religion is worthless.
- Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand in the way of sinners,
nor sit in the company of scoffers. - He is a rock, his deeds are perfect,
and all of his ways are just.
He is a God of truth who does no wrong;
he is just and upright. - May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you.
- Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;
whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God rests upon him. - As long as the goodwill is present, the gift will be acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
- And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”
- Love does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices in the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things. - The Lord has told you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
Only this: to do what is right, to show mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God. - You can eat any water creature that has fins and scales; those you can eat. Whatever does not have fins or scales, you are not to eat. It is unclean for you.
- For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast.
- If someone says, “I love God,”
but at the same time hates his brother,
he is a liar.
For whoever does not love the brother
whom he has seen
cannot love God whom he has not seen. - Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe in him
already stands condemned,
because he has not believed in the name
of the only-begotten Son of God. - The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both.
- However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does.
