| For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. | For the word of the Lord is right, And all His work is done in truth. |

| God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. | All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. |

| Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. | This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. |
| But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. | But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. |
| Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. | Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. |
| You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. | All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. |
| Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. | He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. |
| This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! | Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. |
| “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence. | And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. |
| Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. | But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. |
