- But consider the joy of those corrected by God!
Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. - That is why I can never stop praising you;
I declare your glory all day long. - One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened, and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.”
- God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they will be satisfied. - Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
- My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
- Better to have little, with fear for the Lord,
than to have great treasure and inner turmoil. - Walk with the wise and become wise;
associate with fools and get in trouble. - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
listen to my plea!
Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. - May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people.
- Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”

- God places the lonely in families;
he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. - So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper,
so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?” - I have tried hard to find you—
don’t let me wander from your commands. - They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.
- May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
- The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me? - For I cried out to him for help,
praising him as I spoke. - Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
- For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
- To the faithful you show yourself faithful;
to those with integrity you show integrity.
