Chinese (traditional)- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
- In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
- Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. - The father of a righteous child has great joy;
a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. - The vine is dried up
and the fig tree is withered;
the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree—
all the trees of the field—are dried up.
Surely the people’s joy
is withered away. - Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
- For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning. - I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
- Because I rescued the poor who cried for help,
and the fatherless who had none to assist them.
The one who was dying blessed me;
I made the widow’s heart sing. - His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
- However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
- The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes. - Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
- Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
- When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place. - The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
- I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands. - Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him,
we will also live with him. - Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
- To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.
- Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
- I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. - He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops.My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me.
