Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies. | Who can find a worthy wife? She is far more precious than pearls. |
You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. | When you search for me, you will find me. When you seek me with all your heart. |
|
He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it. | Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. |
Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. | Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. |
I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture. | I am the gate. Anyone who enters through me will be saved. He will go in and out and will find pasture. |
I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. | Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. |
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. | For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. |
Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need. | Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace when we are in need of help. |
But from there you shall seek Yahweh your God, and you will find him when you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. | But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there. |
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. | Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. |
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good. | Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul; one who cherishes understanding will prosper. |
Yahweh says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” | These are the words of the Lord of hosts: Stand at the crossroads and look around; ask for the ancient paths. When you are shown where the good way lies, walk along it and your souls will find rest. However, they said, “We will not take it.” |
He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor. | Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life and honor too. |
Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man. | Do not let kindness and fidelity leave you; fasten them around your neck and inscribe them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will gain favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. |
So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul. If you have found it, then there will be a reward: Your hope will not be cut off. | In much the same manner will wisdom be sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a future, and your hope will not be cut off. |
Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it. | Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and those who find it are few in number. |
We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress. | But the Almighty we cannot find; he is unequaled in power and judgment, and in his righteousness he will not violate justice. |
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end. | He has made everything suitable for its time, and he has given men a sense of past and future, but they never have the slightest comprehension of what God has wrought from beginning to end. |
In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yes, God has made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything after him. | When things are going well, be grateful for your blessings, and in times of adversity consider this: God has made both of them, so that we cannot predict with confidence what the future holds. |
That I may come to you in joy through the will of God, and together with you, find rest. | In that way, I can come to you in joy, if God so wills, and be refreshed together with you. |
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding. | Blessed is the person who has found wisdom, the one who has gained understanding. |
He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. | With his feathers he will shelter you, and you will take refuge under his wings; his faithfulness serves as a protective shield. |
He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed. | The one who pays heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. |
Behold, that which I have seen to be good and proper is for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good in all his labor, in which he labors under the sun, all the days of his life which God has given him; for this is his portion. | This is the conclusion I have reached: it is fitting for a man to eat and drink and find satisfaction in the results of his labors under the sun during the brief span of life that God has allotted him. |
For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. | For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disharmony and every type of wickedness. |
