| For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. | For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. |
| For every house is built by someone; but he who built all things is God. | For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God. |
| For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? | And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? |

Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. |
| I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. | I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep. |
| For I know that this will turn out to my salvation through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. | For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance. |
| Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you! | Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you. |

Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. | Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. |
| Yahweh will also be a high tower for the oppressed; a high tower in times of trouble. | The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. |
| If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. | So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. |
| Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. | Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. |
| Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. | Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. |
| Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. | Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. |
| Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? | I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me? |
| Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. | There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. |
| For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s farming, God’s building. | For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building. |
