But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.
Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.
We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments.But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.
Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.But Lord, you remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation.
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you!
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house.I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
This also cometh forth from the Lord of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
