- A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
But perverseness in it breaks the spirit. - For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise. - Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit. - Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
- But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
- Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. - Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
- Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
- For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
- Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness. - There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
- Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
- Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones. - Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
- I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
- Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
- And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.
- I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
- So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
- Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
- That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
- A talebearer reveals secrets,
But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter. - This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.
