| House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord. | Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth, but only the Lord can give an understanding wife. |
| For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? | And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? |
| Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. | And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. |
| For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? | And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? |
| One who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But one who is careless of conduct will die. | Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death. |
