Guide your heart (3/4)

  • Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
  • Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.
  • I will give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,
    When I learn Your righteous judgments.
  • Go then, eat your bread in happiness, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works.
  • And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you are not to be afraid of him.
  • Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
  • The Lord is my strength and my shield;
    My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
    Therefore my heart triumphs,
    And with my song I shall thank Him.
  • Create in me a clean heart, God,
    And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
  • As in water a face reflects the face,
    So the heart of a person reflects the person.
  • They will no longer hunger nor thirst, nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any scorching heat; for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.
  • It goes well for a person who is gracious and lends;
    He will maintain his cause in judgment.
  • A joyful heart is good medicine,
    But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
  • Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
    But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
  • May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
    Be acceptable in Your sight,
    Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
  • And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.
  • This is what the Lord of armies has said: ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’
  • Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down,
    But a good word makes it glad.
  • Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.
  • Search me, God, and know my heart;
    Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts;
    And see if there is any hurtful way in me,
    And lead me in the everlasting way.
  • Blessed are those who comply with His testimonies,
    And seek Him with all their heart.
  • But I have trusted in Your faithfulness;
    My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
    I will sing to the Lord,
    Because He has looked after me.
  • But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
  • The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
    A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.
  • Your word is a lamp to my feet
    And a light to my path.
  • So teach us to number our days,
    That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.

The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver,
The heart of the wicked is worth little.
