- I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works. - I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments. - Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God. - Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever,
For they are the rejoicing of my heart. - Go, eat your bread with joy,
And drink your wine with a merry heart;
For God has already accepted your works. - And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
- So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
- The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me. - As in water face reflects face,
So a man’s heart reveals the man. - Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’ - A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. - And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad. - For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
- Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting. - Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart! - But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me. - I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise. - Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path. - So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little.
