| We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. | Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. |

Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. | The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. | But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. |

| Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. | Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. |
| Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time. | Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labor will increase. |
| But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. | But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. |
