He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.He who walks blamelessly and does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart; he who doesn’t slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man.
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.That he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints.
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold. My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned away.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.Seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.Yahweh God made garments of animal skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.
Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh, who delights greatly in his commandments.
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.Yahweh restored Job’s prosperity when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Who will render to every man according to his deeds.Who “will pay back to everyone according to their works.”
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright.
Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.You shall diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
