| He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. | He who walks blamelessly and does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart; he who doesn’t slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man. |
| But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. | But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold. My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned away. |
| Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. | Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him. |
| Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. | Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness. |
| Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. | By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. |
| The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. | The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! |
| According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. | Seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue. |
| And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. | He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” |
| For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. | For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it. |
| Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. | Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. |
| Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. | Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. |
| Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. | Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh, who delights greatly in his commandments. |
| Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. | Yahweh God made garments of animal skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them. |
| And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. | Yahweh restored Job’s prosperity when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before. |
| If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. | If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless. |
| A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. | The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks. |

| Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? | Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? |
| And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
